Oldfield History

From 1732 to present

In 1732, the property was granted by the English Lord Proprietor as a parcel and was noted as “Old Field” Wiggs Bluff. The plantation on the property was burned down in 1781 by the British troops, and was eventually rebuilt and then shelled by Union gunboats. The magnificent Georgian structure that sits on the river was built in 1972 by Robin Carrier and now serves as the community River Club. Crescent Resources purchased the property in 2000 and developed the land as a residential community.
